The beautiful stone-church Canongate Kirk, located on the Royal Mile serves the Parish of Canongate in Edinburgh's Old Town and is a congregation of the Church of Scotland.
The parish includes the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Parliament, and thus serves the Royal Family when they are in town. It is also the parish church of Edinburgh Castle.
In July 2011, the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips married her rugby-playing boyfriend Mike Tindall here.
