Mountains
Urban life can be hectic, so when it's time to get away, Denverites head for the nearby Rocky Mountains. The Interstate 70 corridor takes recreation-seekers to gambling in Blackhawk and Central City, then on to Mount Evans for hiking and biking. Further west are ski resorts Loveland, Breckenridge, Keystone, Frisco and Vail, with Aspen just a scenic drive beyond. Winter is full of snow activities and in the summertime it's all about sunny skies and moderate temperatures for golf, rafting, fishing and climbing. Lodging includes campgrounds, cabins, condos and five-star luxury hotels. Visitors shop and dine in a multitude of venues, soak up some history in mountain towns, or just stop and savor the beauty of the Rockies.
