Golden/Foothills
The city of Golden retains a small-town look and friendliness with its combination of old-school Main Street retail section and slew of recently built condos, restaurants and even kayak rides on Clear Creek. Coors Brewing Company continues to dominate the area and its tours remain popular with free samples. The foothills west of Denver are home to scenic Lookout Mountain, as well as Red Rocks Park with its world-famous amphitheater carved into the landscape. The venue attracts well-known bands during the summer months, and is a year-round favorite for the area's recreational opportunities...from hiking and biking to hang-gliding.
