Description:
Cacao Trails property is a former cacao farm, and visitors can witness the cacao to chocolate process, taste a piece or two, as well as meander a botantical garden with hundreds of local plants, an organic farm, a wildlife sanctuary, and a banana plantation. A small Indian History Museum displays pottery excavated from the nearby Talamanca mountains, and an open-air rancho restaurant is an inviting place to refresh before or after a tour. Cacao Trails is located on the main highway, 10km south of Cahuita. A complete day tour, including a canoe trip down the river, a guide, and lunch is $47, and a basic self-guided tour is $20.
