Most folks who are lucky enough to score one of the four rooms at this unique family-run B & B have nothing but nice things to say about the stay, the attached restaurant and the quaint art gallery, not to mention the sprawling grounds with a lake for fishing, gardens to meander, and plenty of wildlife to spot. Each room is themed and artistically decorated, and named after one of the species that may be found on the premises. Some rooms come with a small balcony, and most have king sized beds- a real treat in Costa Rica. The vibe is warm and hospitable at the Lucky Bug, and it is a fine place to stay in the northern Guanacaste region if you're on your way to a multitude of attractions in Costa Rica, such as Lake Arenal and La Fortuna, and day trips of canopy tours and waterfall visits can be easily arranged. The restaurant features some tasty German specialties as well as Costa Rican dishes, and plenty of vegetarian options- and if you're extra lucky, you may have some of your own fresh caught fish from the Lucky Bug's lake cooked up for you for dinner.
