Finding a sweet spot to sleep is always a top priority, but for those on vacation in Costa Rica it can be especially key; too remote and you'll waste precious time getting around, too noisy and you won't be at your best for the multitude of things to do. Accommodations in Costa Rica can run the gamut, but the ones recommended here are suggested to suit the most selective of travelers and reflect a broad range of budgets, from modest to mid-range to mega-bucks. El Silencio Lodge & Spa, a luxury eco-resort nestled in the mountainous rainforest, is only an hour from the airport but close to the Poas and Arenal Volcanos, and offers the best of many worlds with its gorgeous grounds and a great restaurant. On the Pacific coast, where development has begun to hamper the pristine landscape in some parts, Hotel Costa Verde is a wonderful find for families, couples, and solo travelers and features a unique airplane fuselage as part of its architecture. Los Suenos Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort is one of the biggest and best all-inclusive hotels in Costa Rica, close to beautiful beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park, and boasts three excellent restaurants and as many swimming pools. On the Caribbean, where the jungle meets the sea in a narrow stretch of raw coast, the Lizard King Resort is a comfortable, cozy and affordable home base from which to explore the region's myriad natural gems, with a cool pool and wi-fi to boot. In the northern Guanacaste region on the road to some of the the country's most visited attractions lies the Lucky Bug Bed & Breakfast, a little gem with only four well-appointed rooms and an art gallery featuring the works of Costa Rican artists.
