Description:
This small Chinese restaurant is located on a side street off Gammel Kongevej not far from the
Planetarium and rapidly gained a reputation as one of the city's better sit-down eateries for those on a tight budget not long after opening in 2002. Yan's Wok specializes in Hong Kong cuisine and – in contrast to the city's other Chinese restaurants – is open for dinner only. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including vegetarian choices, although the restaurant's specialty is Peking duck in hoi sin sauce – and its 'black and white' dessert, made with rice, coconut milk, kidney beans and vanilla ice cream. While not as cheap as some of the city's Chinese restaurants, it's pleasant to dine here, in tasteful, white-painted surroundings with Chinese paintings on the walls and paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling, as well as white tablecloths, 'proper' service and a wine list. Take away is also available at a 10% discount.
