Four experienced young female chefs who met whilst working at Copenhagen's acclaimed
Famo restaurant teamed up in spring 2011 to open Spiseri (the 'eatery' in Danish); a simple, local cafe-restaurant in Copenhagen's Nørrebro quarter. The primarily Italian menu card offers cheap, simple yet tasty and wholesome food, and the decor is equally personable rather than smart. Choose from an a la carte menu with primi between DKK 65 & 90 and secondi priced at DKK 110-140, or a 4-course menu between DKK 290-310, depending on season, along with specially selected French and Italian wines and two varieties of gourmet beer. Despite the informal atmosphere, Spiseri has wowed local critics and reservation is recommended: Vegetarians and those with specific allergies are asked to mention particular needs when booking. Especially popular are Spiseri's monthly cake afternoons, held on the first Sunday of every month.
