With its large glass doors opening right out onto the sidewalk of busy Kongens Nytorv Square, smart Cafe Quote is a place to watch and be watched. Its trendy, expensive decor and attention to detail as well as its expensive menu card has made this a spot for celebrities since it opened in 2005 and its location, close to several newspaper houses, make it a popular spot for local journalists winding down or grabbing lunch. The food here ranges from basic lunch favorites at less-than basic prices (DKK 155 for a burger) and evening meals like veal fillet or grilled salmon (DKK 175-185): More reasonable are the set menu prices of DKK 245 for two-courses or DKK 295 for three-courses. A rather fancy, pan-European brunch complete with Spanish chorizo tortilla and French croque monsieur is served every weekend for DKK 145 (not including drinks). The cafe has two floors, with a restaurant on the upper level and a simpler, cafe menu downstairs.
