Description:
This white wooden beach house building at the foot of Peblinge Sø (oneof
The Lakes), is one of Copenhagen's landmarks and dates from the 1890s. For years it has operated as a nightclub, known mainly as a place to hear Copenhagen's hugely-popular copy bands play cover sets to crazily-dancing Danes. With a capacity of around 300, it's also known for its large private parties and events (advance ticket only), especially the one on New Year. Very mainstream, Club Søpavillonen is open every Friday and Saturday from 11pm to 5am, where inhouse DJs play the current pop hits of the day as well as familiar classics from the '80s and '90s. The bar serves cocktails as well as ordinary drinks. On Thursdays and Sundays, meanwhile, Copenhagen's long-standing salsa club '
Salsa Libre' takes over the premises, with classes from 8pm (7pm at Sunday's Club Mojito) and non-stop salsatek disco with DJs from 9pm until 1am (from 8-11.30pm Sundays). Both nights have an entry fee of DKK 50. The large premises also have a private meeting room that can be booked for private parties and functions, with the house restaurant available for pre-booking only.
