Five Guys may be a chain, but this one is truly a standout! Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries first opened its' doors in Washington DC in 1986, but was smart enough to bring it to the Chi. The joint is a bit retro with never frozen beef patties, plus hot dogs and several hundred flavors of Coke! How many flavor combinations can you make? And, do not worry, all drink refills are free. After you pick from over 15 toppings and condiments, your mouth will definitely be watering when you see the amazing helping of double-fried French fries, and just to add to the pile of food, are some free peanuts. Why not? And, if the full burger is too much for you, there are an always mini version, which doesn't mean a smaller patty, just one instead of two! There are several locations throughout the Chicagoland area, and all are open into the wee hours of the morning for those that need a late night pick-me-up! Yum!
