Kohonlich and Dzibanche are beautiful and tranquil archeological sites roughly 60-70 Km. west of Chetumal, every bit as remarkable as Tulum or Chichen Itzá, but without the crowds of tour groups. They are too far from Cancún for a day-trip, but you can spend the night in Chetumal and visit the Mayan Culture Museum, or in Bacalar and take in the lagoon.Address:
