As one of the largest metros in the south, Charlotte has one of the best nightlife offerings in the southeast. Visitors of all ages and interests can find nightlife to their liking. There’s no shortage of college town bars for singles and young adults, but Charlotte is also known for its music scene and many wine bars that are popping up around town.
Most of Charlotte’s nightlife takes place in the Uptown and NoDa (North Davidson Street) neighborhoods. Going north from Uptown you’ll find small college town bars and pubs close to the university. NoDa is the eclectic part of town, but has many new bars that cater to all types of people, including wine bars such as Wine Up and music venues, including the popular Evening Muse.
Uptown Charlotte features the most diverse set of nightlife. This includes its fair share of European pubs, but many large bars including the Buckhead Saloon. Many of Uptown Charlotte’s classy restaurants are a popular gathering spot for a nightcap.
