Capitola is a small beach town and, as one might expect, such a place is not overflowing with hotels. However, there are several excellent places to lay your head at night, and you'll find them on the list below. From beach-front hotel to long-term suite rental to cozy bed and breakfasts, for such a tiny city, Capitola hotels make a big impression.
Far and away the best stay in Capitola is the Inn at Depot Hill. Great location matched with a gracious staff and top-of-the-line amenities have guests coming back again and again. Spacious and well-tended rooms all have a gas fireplace. You can even have breakfast delivered to your rooms. Hands down the best stay in Capitola, and the Number 1 on this Top 10.
Another great stay is the Capitola Hotel (No. 4). With its Caribbean theme and breezy, relaxing rooms, along with its close proximity to the beach and downtown Capitola, it is a no-brainer for many when choosing the perfect place to stay in town.
For something a little different (not so beachy) and off the beaten path, the Sand Rock Farm Bed and Breakfast, Number 9 here, is an option. Located in Aptos, just south of Capitola, Sand Rock Farm is leaps away from the coastal environment of Capitola, thanks largely to its proximity in the forest. A European-style retreat designed for tranquility and relaxation, Sand Rock Farm is the perfect place for a quiet stay with out being too far away from the surrounding attractions of the Central Californian coast.
The Venetian Hotel has an equally great location as the Capitola Hotel, but many visitors have been disappointed by its run-down feel and poor service. It's still a favorite among many travelers, so it makes this list at No. 10, but there are a lot more comfortable and unique places to stay that don't sacrifice service simply because of their prime real estate.
