Named one of the Top Ten Resorts in Mexico, by Conde Nast Traveler, Dreams Cancun lives up to the hype. The all-inclusive resort enjoys one of the hotel zone's best locations -- 72 acres at the tip of Punta CancĂșn, with the Caribbean Sea to the east, Bay of Mujeres to the North, and a small lagoon in the center of the property that is home to several dolphins. Most rooms have a water view.
The setting is casual, and the hotel welcomes children. In fact, Dreams Cancun has a very nice kid's club that has scheduled activities for children throughout the day and even has a sleepover for the little ones, once a week.
This is one of Cancun's oldest hotels but it has been lovingly maintained over the year. It is smaller than the mega-resorts that have taken over the area and that is part of the charm of Dreams Cancun. There are 2 towers for guest rooms. The Club Tower is a modern looking, 17-story triangular structure. Each floor has only a few rooms, each with a spectacular view. The other tower is called the Pyramid Tower. It is a low-rise building that was modeled after an ancient Mayan pyramid. Rooms are well-appointed but only the rooms in the Club Tower have bathtubs.
The all-inclusive concept here includes meals, 24-hour room service, and premium-brand drinks, as well as the use of all resort amenities, non-motorized water sports, theme-night entertainment, and tips.
The hotel has a great spa, but spa treatments are not included in the all-inclusive package.
One of the resort's restaurants is Paloma Bonita, for Mexican cuisine.
