It's also a couple of blocks from El Parque de Las Palapas, a large park that is popular with locals (especially on the weekends). On Yaxchilan, it's not unusual to see mariachi bands sitting, or standing, around waiting to be hired for a last-minute gig. For the right price, they'll break into song right on the street corner.
Ramada Cancun City and Hotel Xbalamque are right on Yaxchilan Avenue, but other downtown hotels are only a few minutes away, by taxi.
Closer to Plaza Las Americas/Malecon Americas, the large mall in downtown Cancun, you'll find B2B Malecon Plaza hotel, City Express Cancun, Sens Cancun, and Oasis America.
