Description:
Monkey Hostel beats all the competition for prime location in Campeche's Historic Center, occupying the second floor of a Main Square building next to the Casa Seis Museum. Comfy chairs sit at the broad lounge window, which frames a postcard-perfect view of the cathedral – they even have a hammock for true relaxation. If you want to make new friends on your travels through Mexico, stay at Monkey Hostel. Beds are available in cheery, yellow and white painted dormitories with double-decker bunks, or in single and double private rooms. Climb a tiny spiral staircase to reach the inviting roof terrace where you can sit at café tables while enjoying the sunset over the colonial heart of the city. Manager Alfredo is soft-spoken but runs a clean, perfectly tidy hostel that receives glowing reviews from backpackers – Monkey Hostel deserves them all. For meals, La Parroquia Restaurant or La Pagoda are inexpensive choices.
