What are the most romantic things to do in Calgary? Sadly, that is a pretty difficult question to answer. Calgary will never be mistaken for Paris or Barcelona. As a general rule, Calgary is known for being a place where you either live to work or live to explore the mountains. While there are a number of great, romantic restaurants in Calgary, the number of fun, romantic things to do in Calgary lags behind.
The Calgary Tower is one option. The Sky 360 restaurant is a great way to see the city(and, you can get to the top for free with a reservation!). Not far from the Tower is Olympic Plaza, which is host to many festivals throughout the year. The Plaza is also decorated for Christmas and flooded as a skating rink. Having a meal on Stephen Ave. and enjoying a skate on the Plaza is a fun experience.
Prince's Island Park is a great place to escape for a picnic and a leisurely stroll down the Bow River. In the summer, you can enjoy Shakespeare in the Park. In the winter, the Calgary Zoo decorates itself with Christmas lights, making it the biggest Christmas light display in Western Canada. It's pretty neat.
Banff is a short drive from Calgary. A day trip to Banff is a must. Getting out to the hot springs, seeing the "Million Dollar View" of the Bow Valley, taking a ride up the gondola are all great to do with someone you love.
