NileGuide Expert tip:
Dress to impress at Stiletto, and be aware of the minimum charge
Description:
Stiletto bar and lounge belongs to the
Cairo Sheraton hotel, and is situated just opposite it on the cornice. It's the sort of modern, trendy, open plan bar that wouldn't look out of place in a hip area of London or New York.
Stiletto has huge windows along one wall looking directly out onto the Nile, a large rectangular bar in the centre of the room (glowing white along the sides), and low-slung, chic furniture that almost looks comfortable.
Despite playing to the high end of the market, the atmosphere in Stiletto is relaxed, yet upbeat. There's either live music or a DJ playing every night of the week, ranging from funky House to Golden Oldies. The crowd are the sort of affluent cool professionals that prefer to sup and be seen than go mad on the dancefloor.
Stiletto has a wide range of drinks, including imported wines and champagne, and some killer cocktails. Prices are reasonable, given the setting. Stiletto also serves decent food, specialising in char-grilled skewers from around the world.
Note that although there is no formal dress code, you will still need to dress like you've made an effort. There's a 120 LE minimum charge per person each night, and 150 LE at the weekend.
