The plaza outside the museum is beautifully landscaped and has many benches. Grab a coffee across the street, and take a little sun in the morning before you tour the museum.
Description:
This is a great little natural history museum with exhibits detailing the geology, paleontology, archaeology, biodiversity, and culture of the inhabitants of Baja California Sur. Highlights include details on the life of the Pericues, the original inhabitants of Los Cabos; information on local cetaceans like whales, dolphins, and porpoises; history of Spanish colonization and subsequent piracy; an exhibit of early tools; and old technology donated by local inhabitants. The information placards are in English and Spanish, with the Spanish on six-sided wheels below the exhibits, and the English information on rectangular cards posted on the walls to the sides of the exhibits. The museum is free, although they do take donations. They are open Monday 10am-2pm, Tuesday through Friday 10am-7pm, Saturday from 9am-2pm and 4pm-8pm, and on Sunday from 4pm-8pm.
