There are many great activities downtown, both in terms of exploring the history of San Lucas, as well as all the great local shopping. The Museo Cabo San Lucas tops our list, and is located on the town square at Plaza Amelia Wilkes. This natural history museum is free, and gives visitors background on the geology, marine life, original inhabitants, and cultural life of Los Cabos. The Iglesia de San Lucas also provides a useful history lesson. This Catholic church was built in 1730, and is the most important place of worship in San Lucas. Like the previous two picks, the Cabo Coffee Company is located right off the town square, and is the headquarters of internet cafe society in San Lucas. This is where everyone comes for coffee and emails in the morning, and the ice cream is very popular during the summer months. Those shopping for jewelry can check out excellent shops like La Minita and Magic of the Moon. Resort clothing is available at Macarena Gutierrez, and art at Sergio Bustamante. Tutto Bene is the only organic grocery in San Lucas, and a popular stop for health conscious locals and visitors.
