Cabo San Lucas is justifiably famous for its nightlife. There are a dizzying array of bars and clubs, from beach front palapas bars serving cold cervezas to great live music venues to flawlessly decorated VIP discoteques offering the finest in bottle service and dance floor ambiance. You can go from the most local of local hangouts to sipping champagne next to movie stars, often on the same block.
The best bet is to begin at the local bar nonpareil, Cabo Lounge, home of ex-pats, dolphin trainers, and a who's who of the local scene. When you arrive in San Lucas, go to the lounge during happy hour to find out what the locals think are the best watering holes in town. Happy Ending is sure to come up, always popular for the two beers and two shots of tequila for five dollarss, with great casual atmosphere included.
For the ultimate sunset beverage, head over to Baja Brewing Company on the ninth floor of Cabo Villas. This place has the best microbrew in all of Los Cabos, and incredible deck views of Medano Beach, Land's End, and Bahia San Lucas. Afterwards, walk over to the marina for cocktails at Nowhere Bar. This place is always packed when the sun goes down, and Ladies Night on Tuesday is the place to be for the single crowd. Our fifth pick, Barometro, is also on the marina and boasts great martinis and terrific lighting with movies playing on the giant video screen.
Now that the night has begun, it is time for rock and roll. The world famous Cabo Lounge and the Jungle Bar are the two best live music venues in town, and start to fill up after dinner. Whether it is Sammy Hagar making an appearance at the Wabo, or Monster and the band rocking it out at Jungle, these two are essential experiences for both first-timers visitors and locals alike.
After midnight, go to the most popular club in town, the legendary Squid Roe. This place is a landmark, and will the perfect introduction to the late night scene here. Then, if you're ready to hobnob with the celebrity crowd, head to nine or ten on our list, Mandala and Pink Kitty. These are ultra-deluxe VIP clubs with bottle service, hip deejays, gorgeous lighting, and the creme de la creme of San Lucas and the international jet set. At daybreak, go back to your hotel or villa to rest up for more of the same tomorrow.
