Patios de La Boca
Address:
Wenceslao Villafañe 452
Buenos Aires, AR
Description:
La Boca might not be the first suggestion of a place to stay when coming to Buenos Aires; the neighborhood, though the most touristy of BA barrio's, is dangerous and, while sprawling, has little for visitors beyond the Boca Juniors stadium and colorful Caminito. That said, the barrio is doing a bit of up and coming of its own, with a cleaned-up waterfront walk, the stellar just-renovated Fundacion Proa art center, and Popa, a new contemporary art gallery-cum-Saturday brunch bar brought to us by the former owners of the now-defunct outcast haven, Kim y Novak. So why not check into a room in the 'hood and check things out for yourself? Your best bet is Patios de La Boca, massive independent apartments with hotel services and loads of charm. Ten apartments share a common garden and terrace; floor plans can be viewed along with lovely photos of the colorful digs on the webpage. Staying for awhile? Ask about monthly rental rates – some of the most reasonable in town.
