The streets of Buenos Aires, action-packed and exciting as they are, often leave visitors yearning for a bit of green space and outdoor activity. Fortunately, along with all of the museums and tango halls, BA has plentiful open spaces, excellent for catching some sun and fresh air, soaking in the lush greenery of the city, and stretching your limbs. One of the best ways to spend time outdoors is on wheels, and a tour with Urban Biking, which offers a fantastic 4-hour night tour, or La Bicicleta Naranja, is a nice way to both see the city and get some outside time. Both companies also rent bikes by the day or week for those that just can't get enough, but note that the rates are slightly inflated thanks to the tourist aspect of each company. Casual bikers may want to ask around their hotel or neighborhood for a local bike rental for more reasonable weekly rates. Bikes can also be rented by the hour or day along the Costanera Sur, just outside the entrance to the sprawling, lush Reserva Ecológica. Spend an afternoon wandering the trails through the riverside reserve, where the views of both the river and looking back towards the city are best. If exercise isn't really your thing and you prefer to spend your out-of-doors time on a park bench or blanket, head to one of Buenos Aires' many parks and plazas. Should you be towards the northern end of town, get yourself to the Bosques de Palermo and grab a spot near the pretty pond or in the rose gardens. Nearby is the Japanese Garden, where for a small fee visitors gain entrance to the lovely water garden.
