Description:
The St. Lukács Medicinal Bath is one of the many inner city bath houses boasting with a rich historical background. Bath houses have been built on the site since the 12th century, but it was the first spa hotel built in Neo-Classical style in the late 19th century that gave birth to the Lukács, given its present appearance only a few years ago after undergoing thorough renovation.
The complex consists of eight 16th century pools divided between a women's section, a men's section, and a thermal section with water temperature ranging from 24 – 40 degrees. A Finnish sauna, dry room and a steam room as well as a mud bath can also be found. Two outdoor pools are surrounded by a lovely park.
Feeding the bath are springs rich in calcium, magnesium and hydrogen-carbonate amongst other useful substances, so just about every type of water therapy is available including high mineral content drinking cures.
