The Józsefvárosi open air market offering a huge range of both original and imitation brands is named after the district in which it is located. This not-so-charming part of town – which, back in its hay day used to be the neighbourhood belonging to artists and musicians – is merely a residential area with crumbling old un-renovated buildings today. The market however remains as popular as ever with crowds flooding in daily, all after a good bargain they are sure to find. Its reputation however remains dubious, with everything to be found here from underwear to electrical equipment.
