East Boulder
Although much of Boulder's focus is to the west because of the spectacular Flatirons, East Boulder also has much to offer and is more off the beaten path. Celestial Seasonings, just 6 miles from Downtown Boulder, has a café, a free tasting room, and a tour that ends with the infamous "Peppermint Room". While you're over there, visit the Leanin' Tree Museum of Western Art, which exhibits the private art collection of Ed Trumble, Founder and Chairman of Leanin' Tree art greeting cards. Also in East Boulder is the Boulder Reservoir – "The Res," to locals – which offers day passes for swimming and a variety of other water-related recreation activities such as canoeing and kite-surfing. Just by The Res is the Boulder Creek Winery. Stop by their tasting room Thursday through Sunday to sample some delicious local wines. For an exciting evening activity, catch a show at the Boulder Dinner Theater.
