Casa Vieja
NileGuide Expert Says:
One of the best Ajiacos in town
Address:
NileGuide Expert tip:
come at lunchtime so you can have a siesta to sleep off the heavy food.
Description:
Big servings of traditional Colombian food. Ajiaco, bandeja paisa, patacones. sancocho, tamales, sobrebarriga and others. Mountains of food and heavy on the meat. Located on the road up to Monserrate, in La Candelaria, and only a few blocks from the highly recommended Gold Museum. La Casa Vieja has five sites in Bogota and is arguably one of the best places to enjoy this cuisine since there is no doubting the quality of the ingredients used. The decor in each of the chain's outlets is supposed to depict a Bogota of times past and actually does quite a good job of it with eclectic furniture that looks to be handed down from one generation to another of creole families.
