There may be no better place to go and dine out on Peruvian specialties in Bogota as in Astrid y Gaston in Rosales. At first the place seems in an unassuming location beside the busy Carrera Septima, but under closer inspection you can see that everything has been carefully groomed to hide the establishment from Bogota's careening fleet of buses, murderous taxi drivers and noxious fumes. High fences are adorned with greenery and you have to look around the side for the main entrance and then, what's inside does not disappoint.

Astrid and Gaston have been rightly lauded for their incredibly cuisine, and with restaurants throughout latin America and in Spain, they have won accolades as having an eatery that has been voted amongst the 50 best in the world.

Peruvian food relies on the balance of flavours and here you have to try the Papas a La Huacaina, the Jaleas, the ceviche and of course the Aji de Gallina. Really, trying to put their cooking into words would do nothing but a disservice to two members of the current culinary royalty.
