Since 1949, Schloß Schönhausen (Pankow castle) held the seat of the DDR president Wilhelm Pieck and remained the location for the East German head of state until 1964. Today Pankow remains one of Northern Berlin's prestigious districts with interesting architecture and beautiful parks.Nightlife
