Dong Cheng District Hotels in Beijing

Dong Cheng district is smack dab in the center of the city, the old town heart of Beijing. Directly to the south is the Forbidden City, to the West lies beautiful Houhai Lake. To the east is the second ring road, offering access to anywhere in the city by subway, bus or cab. For any exploration of Beijing Dong Cheng is the place to be.

This district is also home to the city's famous hutongs, including the most popular Nanluoguxiang, Wudaoying and the hutong mazes around Houhai Lake. Many of the hotels in the area are in renovated hutongs, or mimic the famous hutong styles. Beijing Hutong Inn, Beijing Hutong Culture Inn and Beijing Oriental Culture are three of the more cultural options in the district.

For a fancier stay while in the heart of old Beijing, condier Sunworld, Grand Metropark Yuantong or Ocean Hotel. These options live up to western standards, but come with a more western price tag as a result.

For mid-range, local places consider booking Beijing Perfect Inn, Beijing Courtel, Tangyue Hotel or Beijing Xinhai Jinjiang Hotel. All of these options provide the basics, and unless you plan on spending a great deal of time in your room they will suffice and offer accessibility to the best parts of the city for walking around, dining locally or checking out the hutongs.
