Belgian cuisine in Beijing is sorely under represented. Although there are a great deal of well received European and Fusion restaurants that include Belgian elements, there is only one major Belgian restaurant in town.
Morel's is a delightful chain of Belgian restaurants serving traditional Belgian fare from across the country, from Waterloo to Brussels and into the hinterlands of Belgium. You'll find delicious meat and potato dishes that tickle the palate as well as delightful drink selections and desserts.
If you enjoy Belgian consider German cuisine, which is in larger supply in Beijing. Drei Kronen, near Gongti is an amazing little brauhaus with home-brewed beer, authentic decor and clothing and a great menu that is surprisingly affordable. Likewise, Schindler's is a famous German restaurant complete with sauerkraut and schnitzel.
Domus, Aria, Solaire Bistro, Vineyard and Cafe Europa all offer fusion and European cuisine where you'll find Belgian treats on the menu as well as Belgian beers and classic European fare. Since authentic Belgian restaurants are in short supply, these back ups with Belgian influences will have to do.
For authentic and world famous European desserts, head to Haagen Dazs where you'll find the ice cream you love right in the heart of Beijing, China.
