The James Joyce isn't winning any awards for location, situated as it is on the major north-south street one West of Sanlitun Street. Still, if you can stumble a few hundred yards past the main attractions of the Village, this is a great little escape.The decor is balanced and not over-the-top Irish. You'll find decent drinks, and an impressive range of affordable beers. The waitstaff are bilingual, and very friendly. And although the music doesn't fit the decor (blaring Beyonce isn't very Dublin pub to most) it's still a chill hangout.
