Unless you're going to Glastonbury Festival avoid the town when the event is on as the whole area gets extremely congested. It normally takes place on the last weekend in June.
Description:
You don't have to be into "alternative therapies" to enjoy a trip to Glastonbury, but it helps. The Somerset town of Glastonbury may be mainly known for the massive music festival that takes place nearby most years, but it is also the place to come if you are after anything remotely unorthodox. White witches live in Glastonbury's quaint cottages, scores of naked people gather periodically on the Tor at sunset, and Christ's blood is believed (by some) to flow in the waters of Chalice Well. Glastonbury's high street is like no other, so don't come here in search of a good burger; most of the town centre's cafes serve vegetarian food only. Do head here however if you are in need of a new crystal, a love spell or a new packet of joss sticks. Whether you take Glastonbury seriously or not, it is a fun place to while away a few hours. Just don't upset anybody or they might cast a spell on you!
