Barcelona's Sagrada Familia is arguably one of Gaudi's most impressive masterpieces. Still under construction and not set to be finished until 2026 (at the earliest) this awe inspiring church draws crowds worldwide, including the recent visit by the Pope himself. If you're heading to see Gaudi's Church in the Sagrada Familia area of Barcelona, there's plenty of other incredible things to keep you entertained for a few hours in that part of town.
Our number two pick combines the Sagrada with a full day touring excursion, including a trip up to Barcelona's Montjuic Hill. This is a great way to spend a day and really take in architecture, history as well as a short trip up the mountain. If you walk about 20 minutes away from the Church, you can check out another Gaudi creation.
Our number five pick boasts the longest bench in the world and is an excellent place to spend a few hours, strolling through the Parc, listening to music and taking in the sun. Parc Guell is also home to Gaud's house where you can see the tiny bed he used to sleep in.
Our number eight pick is perfect if you're in Barcelona near Palm Sunday. Stalls are set up around the Sagrada Familia selling palm fronds and other items. It's an exciting time to be near the Church, especially the few days before Easter.
