After checking out Gaudi's architectural masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia, stick around the neighborhood and frequent one of the many bars and clubs. Even though Barcelona's downtown district is known for being packed with trendy places to spend the evening, if you venture slightly off the beaten path into the more 'moderen' area of the city, you'll find great places to have a few drinks and dance the night away.
Our number one pick is a slight walk from the Sagrada Familia, but it's one of Barcelona's most popular clubs. Sala BeCool is like two clubs in one, with two floors each featuring completely different music. If you're looking for more mainstream, head upstairs and if you like electronic beats, stay on the main floor. There is an entrance fee which includes a drink but anbe sure to go after 2am, as it will be empty before that.
Head into the Eixample area, not far from Sagrada Familia and you'll find our number five pick, Arena. If you're into top 40 and feel like enjoying one of Barcelona's largest gay clubs, this is a great option. Although Arena is primarily known for being a gay club, it caters to everyone and is always a good time.
Walk up towards Gracia and our number seven pick is for hard rock and 80's lovers. Alfa Club is sweaty, sticky and always packed. This small rock and roll venue is ideal for those wanting to dance to Guns' n' Roses and ACDC all night long!
