Sundance Canyon
Address:
T0L Banff, Canada
Description:
Sundance Canyon is an easily accessible trail with parking at the Cave and Basin. This is one of Banff's most popular, touristy trails. The nicely paved 4km track has very little incline to it, and it's accessible by wheel-chair. There is another 2.5km 'loop' at the end of the paved section, and it goes up a little bit (about 150m of elevation). Although the trail is tame by mountain standards, it is still rewarding because of some of the great scenic views you get along the way. Also, the trail is commonly used by horseback riding tour groups. In fact, it seems that there are horses lined up the whole way along, sometimes. But, for a simple afternoon stroll without leaving town, Sundance Canyon doesn't disappoint. There's many points along the way for photographs, birdwatching, or chatting with a friend. And, visitors to Sundance Canyon will easily make it back into town without any bumps or bruises.
