The Banff Centre provides an atmosphere of inspiration and creativity. Part of their mission is to foster development in all areas of life, and the Sally Borden Fitness & Recreation center was designed to help the citizens of Banff remain active and healthy. The pool and aquatic center has a glass roof, which allows swimmers to view Sulphur Mountain, and features a 25m lap pool, a steam room, and a whirl pool. The 2500 square foot fitness center has all sorts of cardio machine and weights. The climbing gym is one of the most impressive indoor climbing facilities in Alberta with lots of wall space and an impressive overhang. The center also has a gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, as well as squash courts. The massage facility provides a number of therapeutic options at a price that is much cheaper than many of the spas in Banff. A day pass costs $10 for adults. The facility is open from 6am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 10pm on weekends.
