Editions Galleries are located throughout Alberta in Banff, Calgary, and Edmonton. They specialize in limited edition wildlife and landscape art, and feature such renown artists as Robert Bateman. Editions provides excellent value for the investment-minded art buyer, and it holds an enormous quantity of artwork. In Banff, the Editions Gallery is in Cascade Plaza, which is the closest thing Banff has to a "mall". It feels like a store at a mall, as well, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does cut down on its 'artistic' vibe. Unlike other niche galleries in town, Editions does not limit itself to Canadian themes or artists, and it does not focus on First Nations work, either. It is, really, a gallery for commerce and investing. The artwork is professional and classy. It's worth a lot of money. And, for the most part, it's pleasant to look at. Editions is not 'cutting edge', and it won't get you in touch with the artists. But, it is a good place to find really nice, professionally made art.
