There aren't a lot of brand-name hotels in Banff, at least not common chain-brands like Holiday Inn. But, there are a lot of hotels, many of them operated by the Banff Lodging Company, which has high standards of service and quality. Banff hotels offer more than just a clean room. They provide a quaint, mountain experience, great views, and friendly staff.
The Fairmont Banff Springs is Alberta's pre-eminent four seasons resort. It is pricey, but it is also a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many. The grounds are beautiful. Hiking around the hotel is plentiful. The river runs nearby. And, there are wild animals to be seen, year-round. The Banff Springs is a historic hotel for Canada, and it truly made Banff into the tourist destination that it currently is.
The Delta Banff Royal Canadian Lodge is one of Banff's 4 star hotels, but it is near the downtown area, unlike the Banff Springs and Rimrock. This hotel is close to Banff Ave., where most of Banff's shops, restaurants, and pubs are located.
The Banff Lodging Company owns the Fox and Caribou, among several others in Banff. These hotels have a reputation for being cozy and comfortable. They all look perfect from the outside, and inside they are well-maintained and clean. Banff Lodging Company hotels are good value for the money.
