Start your meal with Thai fish cakes, ground fish mixed with Thai spices and magrood leaf. It's served with a wonderful sweet-and-sour cucumber sauce sprinkled with ground peanuts. Spring rolls are another great appetizer that pack an unexpected burst of flavor, thanks to the addition of mint and basil. If you can't get enough basil, opt for the finely chopped chicken (pad ped ga-prao) with Thai basil, Thai pepper, and mushrooms. The shrimp pad thai is also excellent, spicy with a hint of sweetness.
