Plan to have a coffee and pastry earlier and then look round the stalls as the tables become hot property by about 10am.
Description:
Commonly referred to as "The French Market" or "The Parnell Farmers' Market", visiting La Cigale is a lovely way to spend a weekend morning. While it is not huge, there is pleanty to look at and the market does get crowded. The shop from which La Cigale takes its name has a few interesting French-themed items and the stalls in the market offer local cheeses, meats, breads, wines and vegetables amongst imported specialty items. There are a few food stalls for paella and crepes, but the real stars are the pastries which you can enjoy at a table with a good coffee inside the building.
You can take the link bus to Parnell and then walk all the way down St. Georges Bay Road to the bottom to find the market. You'll think you've gone the wrong way, but just keep walking until the road turns into a path and then turn right at the round about.
