Auckland City YHA is a centrally located youth hostel close to the Airbus stop with nice views and a rooftop deck with barbecue. There is a larger sister hostel down the road, so if the rooms are all booked up you can don your pack and head downhill. It's a short hop to the nightlife of K' Road (Karangahape Road) and a gentle downhill stroll to the CBD and the waterfront.
