In Auckland, the word 'attraction' often has moer to do with the natural world than any sort of theme park. We do have a couple fo theme park-like attractions, but those don't really give you the full picture about Auckland. The most obvious attraction is the one that you may even see on your flight in. It's the Sky Tower. We're proud of the fact that it is the tallest struscture in the southern hemisphere and, just quietly, maybe a little pleased that it is taller than the one over in Sydney, Australia. But that aside, teh Sky Tower does boast a couple of options. Of course you can go up to the top for a great view or even have dinner in the restaurant. But, for those who are not too scared of heights, you can also take a walk around the outside of the top platform. Another step further, and you can strap yourself to a tiny wire and jump off. Be sure to also go to both of our most popular volcanoes. The view from atop Mt. Eden as well as One Tree Hill are not to be missed. You can learn all about our history as a Pacific nation through exhibits at the War Memorial Museum and the Maritime Museum. Then grab a bite to eat or a drink at the Viaduct Harbour or, as an alternative, Karangahape Road, famous for its nightlife.
