Auckland is a city on the water and there are many fun ways to enjoy this fact. You can follow our history at the Maritime Museum, or just get out there. Take a walk over the bridge or get in a boat and sail somewhere be it cruise-style or America's Cup racing style. If you need to get your bearings, it's great to go to the top of the Sky Tower or Mt. Eden, a dormant volcano. For more of the same, head out to Rangitoto and try to find the lava caves on this volcanic island in the Hauraki Gulf. But if you simply want to check out our alternative shopping and cafe scene head up to Karangahape Road. That's "K' Road" to locals.
