Duende is ideally located but easy to miss. Just off of the entrance Aeropagitou and Makriyianni is the little off-shooting street of Tziraion. Look up and you'll see the dark oval sign marking the spot. The windows are dark. The inside is dark. Is it even open? Likely you'll give the door a jiggle and find that it is as a soundtrack of crooners is playing and little candles are flickering from within the dark leather booths. Did we mention it was dark?

We still love Duende for being a quiet, atmospheric place in a city where you're often looking for a retreat from the noise and chaos.
