Abyssinias Cafe
NileGuide Expert Says:
The rooftop seating has incredible proximity from the Acropolis and is blissfully free of pan-handling accordion players.

NileGuide Expert tip:
The plates are small so you'll likely order quite a few to share amongst the table. Expect to pay about 25-30 euros a person including wine or beer.
Description:
There are plenty of treasures to be had in Abyssinias, or Avyssinias square, but the most savory of all is this cafe chock-full of old world ambiance and tasty mezze. On Sunday afternoons there's live traditional music and the cafe advertises being open on Saturday nights for the first time; good news for those who want to rest their weary feet from traipsing the flea market all Saturday day. Have a
rakomelo (raki with honey) pan fried cheese and marinated fish and get a table on the second level where the furnishings are lush and you're away from the immediate hustle of the lower section- only a slight transition from the exterior hullabaloo.
