Antigua offers plethora of cheap restaurants that serve excellent and innovative food. Turner's Beach Bar and Grill is the perfect spot for cheap eats. It's a wide expanse of Antigua's famous white sands blended with crystal clear water and, of course, the restaurant. Turner's makes some of the fattest, juiciest burgers and the thickest, tastiest fries. They also have more local meals like curried conch and seasoned rice with a side of greens and fresh lobster in garlic sauce with potatoes. There's always a chicken platter on hand, a perennial favorite. The beach shack is made of unpainted wood and accented with latticework. There is no concrete floor; instead you will have the sand fall between your toes as you drink a nice cold fruit punch or beer.
Grace Before Meals also hits the spot. If it's something fast (well, in Antigua that is relative) but palatable, then say your grace. This place is like a funky shack. You'll see yachties here rubbing shoulders with cabbies, locals and curious visitors alike. Rotis, pizza, chicken platters, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and fish burgers dominate the very simple menu. Local drinks, beer, imported water and carbonated beverages are available. Dessert may be a homemade special of pie or cake and is usually delicious.
If you're craving some excellent Creole food, head to Claudia's Place. Tasty Creole delights make this brightly colored wooden building a definite stop for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bright pink exterior can be considered excessive but you certainly won't have a hard time finding it. Creole fish with rice and peas and a side of sweet potatoes or curried shrimp with rice or macaroni and a side dish are just some of the scrumptious treats here. You don't need to book a table to have your fill of delicious food in Antigua; head to these cheap restaurants and just dig in.
