Family Fun in Amsterdam
Description:
Amsterdam's Scheepvaartmuseum is temporarily closed for renovation, but its highlight, a reconstruction of a VOC ship that sank on its maiden voyage, is open to the public. You can walk the decks and see actors re-enact scenes from the Golden Age of sea-faring. The ship is located next to the Science Center NEMO, full of fun activities that are also educational. The city's zoo is another nice place to visit, and despite being very small, it has some interesting animals housed in historic buildings. For lunch, Pannenkoeken Upstairs serves up traditional pancakes with cute kettle decor.
After lunch, explore the city center, including two famous houses: Rembrandt's house and the Anne Frank House. If you have time, stop by the Pozenboot to see the kitties.
