Description:
Since 1991 a second-hand book market has taken place on the Spui Square, just behind the Kalverstraat shopping street. Each Friday, between 10:00-18:00 there are about 40 market stalls offering a mix of modern second-hand books as well as rarer, antique ones. The market takes place in all weathers. Books are available in many languages, including a large selection of English books. The stallkeepers run the market for the love of books and not for profit and this is reflected in the reasonable prices and their extensive knowledge.
